Julie Ward, FNP-BC
Julie Ward is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Interventional
Pain and Wellness Center. She is originally from Parkersburg, WV. She started
her medical career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She graduated from Washington
State Community College in 2003 and worked at a skilled nursing facility for one
year, during which time she continued her studies at Washington State pursuing
an Associate Degree in Nursing. Upon earning her degree as an RN, Julie worked
at a skilled nursing facility for one year before moving to Washington D.C. in
2005.
In D.C., Julie attended Howard University to pursue a Bachelor’s
Degree in Nursing; during this time, she was employed as a Registered Nurse at a
hospice inpatient unit. In 2006, Julie commenced Graduate studies at Howard
University in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. During this time, Julie
served as a clinical instructor for the undergraduate nursing program at Howard
University. In the fall semester of her senior year of graduate school, she
began working as a Registered Nurse at the George Washington University Hospital
with the oncology medicine unit.
Julie was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society
during graduate studies at Howard University. Julie graduated in May 2008 and
became board certified as a family nurse practitioner in September 2008. Julie
returned to Parkersburg to work at PARS BSI in the Interventional Pain and
Wellness Center.
